Album Scanning

If you have your photos stored in photo albums instead of loose in boxes, they can still be scanned and digitised. There are commonly three types of photo albums; slip-in pocket albums, drymount albums or self-adhesive albums. The type you have will determine the cost of the service.

Slip-in Pocket Albums

​

These photo albums are the most common type used for everyday photo prints. Photos are simply slotted into clear plastic pockets and can easily be removed and rearranged. If you have albums like this, we recommend removing them before scanning and using our High Speed Photo Scanning service. If you would like us to do this for you, we can do so for an additional charge.

Dry Mount Albums

Commonly used in the past, and now often used for special occasion photos, dry mount albums have blank paper or card pages to which photos are attached using photo corners, glue or double sided tape. Pages are scanned as a whole, separated into individual images, and then automatically enhanced.

Self Adhesive Albums

​

Self adhesive albums were popular in the 1970's and are making a comeback today! Pages are fully adhesive with a thin plastic cover sheet; the plastic is peeled back, photos arranged on the page and then the plastic sheet is replaced.

​

If you have a self adhesive album, do not attempt to remove the photos, as this will likely damage them. Our Album Scanning service will be best for you. Pages are scanned as a whole, separated into individual images, and then automatically enhanced.
