We operate Preserve Your Memories out of our home in Sutherland, in Sydney.
We don't currently have a shopfront.

Anchor 3

Can I mail my photos to you?

For the safety of your items, we highly recommend dropping them off to us, or arranging a complimentary pick-up if you are located within the Sutherland Shire. If you wish to mail items to us, please send us a message to discuss your options.

Anchor 4

Are my original photos and documents safe with you?

Your original photos, slides, film negatives and documents are as precious to us as they are to you. We pride ourselves on taking great care when handling any originals. It is extremely unlikely that any damage will occur, however there is always a tiny element of risk when dealing with any automated technology. For this reason, having any valuable or irreplaceable images scanned  by us is at your own risk as we will take no responsibility for damage to originals that is caused by our equipment.

How will I receive my images once they are scanned?

Your digital image files will be copied onto a quality USB flash drive, which you can then view on your computer or television equipped with USB ports. You also have the option of purchasing a 1TB portable hard drive for an additional $85.

Anchor 7

Can you upload my images to the Cloud?

Currently we do not offer this service, although it is something we are looking at doing in the future.

Anchor 8

What does "dpi" mean?

Dpi stands for "Dots Per Inch". Printed images are made up of a series of tiny dots which, when viewed at a normal distance, look like one seamless image. Generally speaking, the higher the number of dots per inch, the clearer and more detailed an image will appear.

Your slide and negative scanning prices seem expensive. Why is that?

Scanning slides and film negatives is a very time-consuming process. Each slide or negative strip is first dusted to remove loose dust and dirt, then wiped with a dry microfibre cloth to remove any remaining debris. Your slides and film are then manually loaded into our quality flatbed scanner, four images at a time. Once scanned, each image is manually enhanced. We believe we offer competitive pricing for our slide and negative scanning service.

Anchor 12

Can I order extra USB flash drives?

Of course! Our USB flash drives make great gifts for family and friends. Each additional USB flash drive will cost $10.

Anchor 13

What happens if I lose my USB flash drive?

For all orders, we will back up your scans free of charge for six months. That means that if you lose your USB flash drive, we can replace it for you for a charge of $10.

Anchor 14

Is it safe to store my images on the USB flash drive long-term?

Because USB flash drives are small and easily misplaced, we strongly recommend transferring your image files to a more permanent location, such as your computer hard drive, and/or a portable hard drive, and/or the Cloud. We use quality USB flash drives, however we will not be held responsible for the failure or corruption of these drives.
